Rourk's book review

The book "House Of The Scorpion" is a dramatic thriller about the future of Mexico. In this story our main character Matt goes on an adventure to learn about himself and to escape the wrath of his family. When he learns the dark truth about himself he tries to escape his family. What Matt learns will be like no other experience he has ever had...

This is not a book I really liked. The beginning and middle of the book had a very strong story but I think it ended not very well. The characters were not very described and the ending was sudden and abrupt. I did like the idea of how they talk about haw in the future the world will change dramatically for the U.S and Mexico. I think besides the ending that the book is a good book but its not very exciting. If you don't like excitement then read this book. You would love it.

Over all i think that the book is a relatively worth reading book if you like teen sci-fi books. It is a good boo if you like future based books and action/adventure books.

  1. Rourk, thanks for your thoughts on this novel. I am sorry that you did not find it that exciting, I would agree that the ending was very abrupt. Do you think that some of the characters were well developed, or did Farmer neglect them all? Remember to use specific details to back up your opinions! Good job :)
