The House of the Scorpion Review
Summary: The books was about Matteo Alacran who was different from everyone else. He had something different about him, he had no parents, didn't go to school, lives in a small house with his guardian Celia, and he was a clone. He not only lived in a tiny house and was scared, but it was on a poppy field. When Matt saw a few kids wander by and after that Matt's whole life changes. At first he is in imprisonment, then he was treated like a king. Finally he learned the truth and the one purpose that he had.
One thing that was good about this book was how the characters were developed. They were never really established until the end of the book. It was through the whole book. The first third of the book was really bland and boring but don't give up on it yet because it then got more exciting. As the book progressed it was betting more exciting.
The few things that were not so great was that the climax it climaxed too early, it felt like the whole book was really boring, then really packed with excitement, then got boring again, but never really ended because they left the book with a cliff hanger.
I would not recommend anyone to read this book as it was never really entertaining. It felt like the book could have been a whole lot shorter than it was. If someone were to read this they should be from 12 to 16 because the book was not a challenging read but it was not ridiculously easy. For people who get distracted really easy do not read this book as it was really boring.
Overall this book was not great it was boring, ended on a cliff hanger, and to me should have been a whole lot shorter.
